British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
